BlackBerry MVS Continuity Features

Continuity of Voice Services to Maintain Business as Usual:
During an outage, Ascendent Continuity provides transparent recovery and maintains communications as voice services and call control are transitioned to an off-site Ascendent Continuity server. Ascendents open architecture seamlessly integrates into existing voice infrastructures and applications to provide a real-time communications infrastructure that ensures voice continuity is immediate and fully redundant, including voice services, user profiles, communications policies, and even voicemail, enabling staff to continue to be productive, regardless of location or device. Maintaining business as usual will help minimize financial losses as well as SLA penalties.

Class of Service and Priority Access:
Ascendent Continuity offers a comprehensive set of communications policies, which can be employed on a per user basis to ensure that in an emergency, key personnel have priority access to telecommunications resources. Security measures will control user access and privileges whereas classes-of-service will guarantee network capacity for high-priority calls.

Operational Continuity Plan, Respond, Recover:
Effective emergency management requires a carefully coordinated and integrated response. Proper planning, training and effective equipment must be in place to ensure a smooth transition from preparedness to response and recovery of business operations. When Ascendent Continuity is bundled with Ascendent Notification and Ascendent Conferencing, enterprise customers will have the power of robust notification, polling and dynamic conferencing capabilities that enable people to quickly communicate and respond. These same tools that are used on a daily basis allow first-response personnel to quickly make contact with constituencies so they can analyze the situation, make immediate decisions and invoke response procedures. Mass groups can be notified in real time of any event, given instructions, and even polled regarding individual disposition, location, etc., improving overall business operations, response times, and employee safety.

Voice Continuity Results:
With Ascendent Continuity, enterprise customers will empower employees to maintain communications effectiveness under any outage or disaster situation. Like Ascendents conferencing and notification applications, Ascendent Continuity leverages the core Ascendent Mobility capabilities, therefore communication capabilities are available across any network or device, including traditional PBX desk sets, as well as VoIP, WiFi, Mobile, home office, and even soft phones such as MSN Messenger devices, so staff members can choose the most appropriate communication technologies to maintain business effectiveness regardless of circumstance.

Ascendent Continuity provides enterprise management with the confidence of knowing that a comprehensive response and recovery strategy is in place for voice continuity. It not only supports recovery of systems and ensures the safety of its staff, but it will provide the capability to maintain critical business processes under any circumstances. And because Ascendent solutions are multi-vendor and technology independent, they will continue to provide value as the enterprise migrates to next-generation infrastructures.
